It’s been a big week here at the NGA as we’ve busily been installing Frank Stella: The Kenneth Tyler Print Collection.
Just like in the print workshop, it takes the hands of many experts behind the scenes to create the final product. The exhibition has been months in the making, and with the support of staff from all across the gallery – including exhibition designers, installers, conservators, framers and many many more – we are ready to unveil the exhibition tomorrow. For now, here’s a sneak peek behind the scenes:

Exhibition curator Jane Kinsman inspects the installation of ‘Black Series I’, inspired by Kazimir Malevich’s ‘The Last Futurist Exhibition of Paintings 0,10’ 1915

The install team measure up before installing the ‘V’ series

Midway through installing the ‘Eccentric polygons’ series

The paper conservation team prepare works from the ‘Circuits’series

Hanging works from the ‘Swan engravings’ series

Moving ‘Juam’ into place

It’s all hands on deck to install ‘The fountain.’
Frank Stella: The Kenneth Tyler Print Collection is on display at the National Gallery of Australia, Canberra from 19 November 2016. Exhibition site: nga.gov.au/Stella
